William's life's work was as a salesman for and eventual owner of Peter Minges & Son Wholesale Candy & Confections at 138 W. Court St. in Cincinnati. The business started in 1905 as a horse and wagon by his father and moved into a storefront in 1912 where the business ran until being sold after William's death. It still operates almost exactly as it looked for over 100 years.
