NEWPORT NEWS - Alexene D. White, 62, a Florence, S.C., native, died Tuesday, June 23.

She retired from Newport News Shipyard after 13 years.

Survived by a daughter, Wanda L. Wright of Newport News; a son, James W. White III of Newport News; her stepfather, Roscoe Wright of Florence, S.C., and two grandchildren.

Viewing from 1 to 8 p.m. Friday at Cooke Bros. Funeral Chapel. Funeral at 1 p.m. Saturday at funeral home. Assemble at 1315-24th St. by 12:15 p.m.

Burial in Peninsula Memorial Park.
