Jean-Baptiste Audet dit Lapointe married Marie-Louise Godbout, daughter of Nicolas Godbout and Marguerite-Angelique Lemelin. The ceremony took place on April 16, 1708, in the parish of St-Laurent, Île-d’Orléans (on the Island of Orleans) not far from Quebec City

Jean-Baptiste and Marie-Louise brought twelve children into the world, 8 girls and 4 boys

Jean-Baptiste drowned on November 12, 1728, just 5 days before the 53rd anniversary of his birth
