Lloyd K. Davis, 91, of DeKalb, Illinois (formerly of Cortland) passed away Thursday, February 3, 2005, at Oak Crest DeKalb Area Retirement Center. He was born September 1, 1913, in Tabor, Alberta, Canada, the son of Jesse L. and Cora M. (Matthews) Davis. He married Gladys Marie Swanson on September 21, 1940, in Dundee.

Lloyd worked for Standard Roofing in DeKalb for more than 25 years. He was a member of the Cortland United Methodist Church and the carpenters and roofers unions, a charter member of the Cortland Fire Department and a former member of the Cortland Lions Club.

He was survived by his wife, Gladys; five children, Jon (Sandy) Davis of DeKalb, Larry (JoAnn) Davis of DeKalb, Fred (Marie) Davis of Hollywood, Florida, Daniel (Jan) Davis of Genoa and Nancy (Mike Falco) Davis of Sycamore; 17 grandchildren, Penny (Rolf) Hansen, Candy (Dick) Anderson, Joni (Steve) Clark, Jon Davis Jr., Danielle Davis, Paul Davis, Julianna (Tony) Ladas, Jamie (Michelle) Davis, Pat Davis, Stacie (Pat) Pendleton, Heather (Brian) Jackson, Matthew Davis, Christopher Davis-Falco, Janessa Davis-Falco, Nicole Vanmeter, Lindsey Griswold and Edward O'Brien; 15 great-grandchildren, Jan Erik and Kristian Hansen, Nicholas, Brennan and Kaden Ladas, Nicole (Nick) Baker, Brittany Palmer, Trevor and Jersey Davis, Shane and Jesse Clark, Kierstin Pendleton, Isabella Jackson, Maritza Hernandez and Anthony Griswold; a great-great-granddaughter, Haylee Baker; three brothers, Arvel (Velma) Davis of Sycamore, Roy (Marilyn) Davis of DeKalb and Forrest (Irene) Davis of Arizona; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Ward Davis.

The funeral service was held at 10:30 a.m. Friday, February 11, at Anderson Funeral Home in DeKalb, with the Rev. Sandra Graber of Cortland United Methodist Church officiating. Interment of his cremains was at Fairview Park Cemetery in DeKalb.
