Joshua Lafayette Arterbury was born Nov. 27, 1860 I believe in the Harmony area in Nevada County. This area is around Hope, AR. He was born to John and Miriam Arterbury. He had a brother William Henry Arterbury. Joshua married Mary Adams Nelson:daughter to James Harvey Nelson and Sarah Jane McFadden who moved to Washington, AR. in abt 1854. They married Feb. 20, 1894 in Hempstead Co. AR. Joshua (nickname:Fate) and Mary (nickname:Mammie) are the parents of Mary Lucille, Jessie, William, Clinton, and Ruth Arterbury. In 1900 when Lucille was born they were living in Boonville Town, Logan, AR. In 1910 they were living in Thompson, Pike, AR. Joshua was working in the diamond mine. In 1920 they were living in De Roan, Hempstead, AR. I believe they wound up living in the Lost Prairie, Miller, AR. Which is located off Dooley Ferry Road toward the Red River. Mary his wife live until 1956 and is buried at the Rhondo Cemetery in Texarkana, AR. I am the Joshua and Mammie's great great great grand daughter. My blood line is Lucille, then Vivian and her daughter Mae was my mother. I am Jeanna Paulette Pankey Jenkins. Very proud of my ancestors.
