Deborah Ann BURKE

Deborah Ann Burke passed away July 24, 2008 following a four year battle with breast cancer. Born in Seattle on June 24, 1951 to James and Joyce Vaughn, Debbie was the second child in a large family of eight. She loved family events, camping at Squire Creek & Oso and floating the river. An avid gardener, Debbie created a place of rest, relaxation and fun for her husband, daughters and grandchildren. It was rare to find Grandma Debbie with an empty lap. She will be remembered for her love of friends and family, gardening, sense of humor, needlework and making a positive experience out of every situation. She was loved by all and will be greatly missed. She is survived by her loving husband and best friend, Ron Burke, her daughters, Jessica and Becky Wilson, and her grandchildren, Lauren, Michael and Shawn. She is also survived by her parents, James and Joyce, siblings, Lynn Lewis, Gloria Doss, Cindy Brighton, Tim Vaughn, Pam Vaughn, Denise Markel, Janine Vaughn and Davick Liles, as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Debbie was preceded in death by her grandparents, Paul Snyder and Rebecca Castleton,in-laws Lois, Jack, Martin and Kay, and nephew, Kevin. A memorial service will be held Wednesday, July 30th at St. John Vianney Catholic Church in Kirkland at 11:00 AM. A second memorial will be held at a later date at Debbie's retreat in Goldbar. Suggested donations may be made to Providence Cancer Patient Assistance, P. O. Box 1067, Everett, WA 98026. Debbie's family would like to extend a personal thank you to Dr. Pelton and staff at Overlake Radiation Oncology for their extra care and support.
