Mr. Johnston was born November 24, 1927 to the late Mr. & Mrs. T.R. Johnston of West Lafayette, Indiana. He passed away at Holy Cross Hospital, Silver Spring, Maryland on Sunday, August 23, 2015.

He sang in the Boys Choir at church, was active in sports and was proud to be an Eagle Scout.

He enrolled at Purdue University and played center on the football team. While at Purdue he left to serve in the United States Marine Corp and served for 3 years then returned to Purdue to finish his studies. While at Purdue he met his future wife Marilyn Graper, while participating in the Glee club. He was a member of the Phi Gamma Delta Fraternity. He graduated in 1952 with a degree in Electronic Engineering, then went to work at Delco Radio in Kokomo, Indiana.

He and Marilyn where married April 12, 1953.

David continued his education and graduated from Indiana University in 1956 with a degree in Education and Counseling.

He retired from the Federal Government after many years of service.

He sang in the National Christian Choir for 16 years and was baptized in the Jordan River.

He is survived by his wife Marilyn, daughters Beckie Johnston and Debbie Johnston Tanzyus and his granddaughter Bethany Tanzyus.
