Rites Tuesday For Goundie And Andrews

Funeral services for both Thomas Jefferson Andrews and George Goundie, killed instantly in an automobile colision [sic]Saturday afternoon north of Childress, will be held tomorrow.

Rites for Mr. Andrews will be held at 10:30 a.m. and rites for vMr. [sic] Goundie will be held at 2 p.m. Both services will be at Newberry's.

Rev. Luther Bradley of the Bible Baptist Church will conduct the Andrews services. Pallbarers [sic] will be M.H. Yount, C.H. Yount, W.A. Harris, E.C. Wilks, R.M. Silks and Odell Wilson. Burial will be in the Childress Cemetery.

He was born August 14, 1889, in Montgomery, Ala.

Survivors include three daughters, Mrs. Jewel Oberg of Amarillo, Mrs. Edra Hickman of Los Angeles and Mrs. Juanita Hutcheson of Orlando, Fla., three brothers, Jim of Childress, Bert of Earth and Dick of Amarillo; two sisters, Mrs. Claudine Helms of Amarillo, Mrs. Mamie Bradshaw of Idalou, nine grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

Rev. Haywood Kube, pastor of the Calvary Baptist Church, will officiate at the rites for Mr. Goundie.

Masonic ante-burial services will be held at Childress Masonic Lodge 695 at 1 p.m. and Masons will conduct graveside services at the Childress Cemetery.

Mr. Goundie was born February 19, 1890, at Mammoth Springs, Ark., and moved to the Cee Vee community in 1897.

Survivors include four sons, George of Wichita Falls, W.W. of Columbus, Ga., R.H. and Harry of Childress; a brother, W.W. of Childress, and a sister, Mrs. Mary Moates of Roswell.
