Andrew Jackson Mitchell, or AJ as he was known, was born 12 Nov 1860 in Dunnville, Ontario, Canada to Richard Mitchell and Catherine Mains or Mayson. He immigrated to Michigan as a young man and met and married Josephine in 1894, the same year that his mother died. Later his sister Alice followed him to Michigan as did the one of his nephews. He started work for the railroad in the early 1900's and was a brakeman. He later retired and went into business with his son in law Harvey Mowrey Sr, they owned a service station together in Gulfport Florida. Harvey and Pearl ran the station in Florida and he lived in Michigan. After his son in law, Harvey and his daughter Pearl died, he moved from Michigan to Florida to run the station. He died in Florida in 1936.
