CONOVER Jamie Lee Fisher Bumgarner, 88, of Conover, passed away Sunday, Jan. 11, 2015 at Catawba Valley Medical Center.
She was born Nov. 13, 1926 in Catawba County, to the late Perry Gordon and Addie Lee Whitner Fisher.
Jamie was a charter member of Church of the Master United Church of Christ and was a homemaker.
In addition to her parents she was proceeded in death by her husband, Cleatus "Tommy" Bumgarner; and four brothers and one sister.
Left to cherish her memory are her sons, Neil W. Bumgarner and wife, Ellen of Hickory, Douglas R. Bumgarner and wife, Ginny of Liberty and Dennis L. Bumgarner and wife, Denise of Hudson; daughter, Amy B. Shook and husband, Tony of Conover; brother, Ray Fisher of Hickory; sisters, Dolly Hawn of Kingsport, Tenn., Ruth Gaston and husband, J.D. of Cherryville, Rebecca Estes of Granite Falls and Phyllis Burns of Hickory; eight grandchildren; three step grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; seven step great-grandchildren; and one step great-great-grandchild.
A memorial service will be held Wednesday, Jan. 14, at 3 p.m. at Church of the Master, United Church of Christ in Hickory.
