Alfrieda Schuetz Rennels was also a superb genealogist and historian who wrote the definitive history of the Schuetz Family, included in the May 1982 (Volume 10, Number 2) edition of the Moultrie County Heritage, pages 31 to 37, published by the Moultrie County Historical & Genealogical Society in Sullivan, Illinois. The article is "A History of Schuetz Family: Fredrick & Maria Schuetz of Moultrie County, IL."

At the end of this article, a note on page 37 points to an additional manuscript of genealogical information on the Schuetz family, also authored by Alfrieda: "Editor's Note: Alfrieda Schuetz Rennels, the author, has prepared a very neat appearing manuscript enhanced with many pictures, documents and [a] couple of family charts. This manuscript is in our society files."
