Obituary

Mrs. Leoti Fudge Creager, widow of the late J. Oscar Creager, died on Friday evening, November 4 at her home in Eldorado, Ohio.

She was the daughter of Wilson and Catherine Creager Fudge and was one of seven girls and three boys. Six member of this family survive her, namely: Mrs. E. Lulu Silver of Blanchester, Tenn.; Mrs. Bertha Paddock, Eaton, O.; Mrs. Harriet Wright, Flushing, N.Y.; Mrs. Pearl Pence, Dayton, O.; Joseph E. Fudge, Dayton, O., and Mrs. Frederick Few, Painesville, O.

In 1890, she was married to John Oscar Creager. One son, Joe Tyler, blessed their home until about 1925, when he passed on while visiting Wy. He was 15 years of age.

Mrs. Creager was a noted reciter in her younger years. She was a graduate of Lebanon university Department of Education, and received special training Dramatic Art in New York university. Many friends well remember her evenings of entertainment in New York, Tucson, Ariz., Laramie, Wyoming, and many other places.

She nobly supported her husband in his work in the field of education at the university of Arizona and for many years as dean of Dept. of Education at N. Y. university.

Mrs. Creager was a member of the P.E.O. sorority. In recent years she has been a faithful member of the Universalist church at Eldorado. Her help and inspiration will be sorely missed by her family and many friends here and other sections of the country, far and near.

In 1938 she joined her husband in a tour of the large universities in Europe. While he gathered data for a manuscript on education, she wrote a series of letters about the countries they visited. These letters for her family and friends were a source of much information and pleasure.

There is comfort for those who have been left in the memories of a happy family group. Her five sister and many nieces and nephews will miss the influence of her active life. They feel that she will be happy with her beloved husband and now in the world beyond.

As she often quoted from Whitther:
"I know not where His islands lift their fronted palms in air. I only know I can not drift Beyond his love and care."
She married John Oscar Creager on December 17, 1899.
