KILE, Dorothy May (Baird) (Age 92) Passed away April 10, 2010 in Cheney, Washington. She was born on the Baird family homestead between Spangle and Cheney on November 17, 1917 to Riley and Rosie Baird. Dorothy graduated from Spangle High School. She worked for the Geske's and married Douglas Kile in 1944 as he was headed to war.

Dorothy is preceded in death by her husband, Douglas Kile and her daughter Connie Kile-Raney.

She loved her children and grand children. She enjoyed going to yard sales, playing bingo and cooking. In 1969 she began cooking at Twanka Commons on the EWU campus. Dorothy was a member of the Malden Eastern Star and Pine City's Kenova Grange. Dorothy has been an exceptional mother, grandmother, aunt, and friend.

She will never be forgotten and will be truly missed. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to one of the following: Spangle Service Club, Spangle Cemetery, Cheney Care Center or Lakeland Village. Visitation will be 5-7 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. Please come and celebrate Dorothy's life on Saturday, April 17th at 1:00 p.m. at Cheney Funeral Chapel. Interment to follow at Spokane Memorial Gardens. There will a potluck dinner at the Spangle Service Club immediately following the internment. Everyone is welcome. CHENEY FUNERAL CHAPEL, 1632 W. She was born on the Baird family homestead between Spangle and Cheney on November 17, 1917 to Riley and Rosie Baird. She was the ninth born of ten children. Dorothy graduated from Spangle High School. She worked for Ernie and Birdie Geschke and married Douglas Kile in 1944 as he was headed to war.

Dorothy is preceded in death by her husband, Douglas Kile and her daughter Connie Kile-Raney, parents Riley and Rosie Baird, brothers Fred, Archie and Elbert Baird, sisters Suzie Piersol (Maurice), Annie Thulon (Bill), Viola Phillips (Chester), and Wilma Erickson (Omer).

She loved her children and grandchildren. She enjoyed going to yard sales, playing bingo and cooking. In 1969 she began cooking at Tawanka Commons on the EWU campus. She enjoyed cooking for the college students during the school year and the Seattle Seahawks during their summer camps.

Dorothy was a member of the Malden Eastern Star and Pine City's Kenova Grange.
