Mrs. Myrtle Burt, 86, of Hamburg died Wednesday, January 5, 2005, at the Chicot Memorial Hospital in Lake Village. A native of Winnsboro, LA., a resident of the Springhill community outside of Hamburg since 1961 and a former resident of Crossett, she was a homemaker and a member of the First Baptist Church in Crossett.
She is survived by two sons, Bobby Burt and Nicky Burt, both of Hamburg; five grandchildren, Susan Sullivan of Seattle, WA; Bob Burt, of Milton, FL; Tammy Burt Burchfield, Pollyanna Burt and Deborah Hicks, all of Hamburg; and eight great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Neal Burt, in 1999; her parents, Henry and Blanche McCain Haddox; a grandson, Mitchell Burt; a brother, Barville Haddox, and a sister, Johnnie Mae Courtney.
Grave-side funeral services were at 2 p.m., Saturday, January 8, at the Egypt Cemetery with Rev. Roy Craig officiating. Funeral arrangements were by Jones-Hartshorn Funeral Home of Hamburg.
