WEBER CITY, Va. -- Edith V. Johnson Gray Carr, 75, 117 Broad St., died early Wednesday evening (June 10, 1998) at Indian Path Medical Center after a lengthy illness.
A native of Wise County, Va., she was a 1941 graduate of Keokee High School.
She was a member of Weber City First Baptist Church and a homemaker.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Elmer W. Gray; and her parents, Andy M. and Mayme Kendrick Johnson.
Surviving are her husband, Charles W. Carr, Weber City, Va.; two daughters, Pat R. Cox, Bristol, Va., and Shirley A. Anger, Peoria, Ariz.; a foster daughter, Debra Thacker, Richmond, Va.; two sons, Eugene Gray, Powell, Tenn., and Freddie W. Carr, Gate City, Va.; nine grandchildren; eight great-granchildren; two sisters, Emily Jean Fulkerson, and Erma Bray, both of Kingsport; three brothers, Roy N. Johnson, Hiltons, Va., Russell K. (Tommy) Johnson, Weber City, Va., and Rudolph Johnson, Surgoinsville; and a step-brother, Billy A. Williams, Kingsport.
Graveside services will be conducted at 10 a.m. today at Holston View Cemetery.
Grandsons will serve as pallbearers.
Scott County Funeral Home, Weber City, Va. is in charge of arrangements.
