John "Jack" William Wade, formally of Dublin and currently Warm Hearth Village in Blacksburg, passed away on Friday, October 2, 2015.

He was born in Fillmore, Utah on December 3, 1932 and was the youngest son of the late, Estella and Arthur W. Wade. He was also preceded in death by his brothers, Franklin E. and Ronald L. Wade; and sisters, Louise Lessing and Nancy Helen Adams.

He was a 1951 graduate of Millard High School in Fillmore, Utah and attended the University of Utah on an athletic scholarship.

Upon graduation in 1955, he married his college sweetheart, Louise H. Saute.

He served in the United States Air Force, 1st Lieutenant; Boy Scouts of America, professional; Roanoke County Parks and Recreation, Athletic Director; Camp Winnebago, Administrator in Caledonia, Minn. and retired from the Woodrow Wilson Rehabilitation Center in Fishersville as a supervisor in Theraputic Recreation.

He was a member of the Dublin Baptist Church and a past president of the Dublin Lions Club. He served as a coach in Special Olympics Va. for over thirty years; member and president of the New River SAMS Camping Club; adjunct faculty at New River Community College; and current member and past president of the Light and Lively Bowling League. He enjoyed watching athletic events, woodworking, drawing and traveling with his wife Louise.

He was a fun loving person and enjoyed life to the fullest.

He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Louise H. Wade of Warm Hearth Village; one son, Michael E. Wade and daughter-in-law (Sherry), of Bella Vista, Ark.; two daughters, Melody M. Wade, resides with Jennifer Martin in a host home in Pembroke VA, Wendy L. Curry and son-in-law, John of Jasper, Ga.; five grandchildren, Melissa Moore and her husband, Bruce of Miami, Okla., Wendi A. Russell of Miami, Okla., Ryan, Dylan, Caryn Curry, of Jasper, Ga.; three great-grandchildren, Tyler Moore of Miami, Okla., Noah, and Ellie and Florence Wade of Miami, Okla.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, October 10, 2015 at 2 p.m. at the Dublin Baptist Church 100 Hawkins Street Dublin, Va. 24084. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Special Olympics Va. 1100 South Main Street Suite B Blacksburg, Va. 24060.
