Robert McKean, 57, 1146 Otter st., was found dead in bed at his home late Tuesday afternoon, a victim of carbolic acid poisoning which Dr. J. I. Zerbe, Venango county coroner, said was self-administered. He was said to have been melancholy recently and had been in ill health for two years. He was born in Scrubgrass township, a son of Jonathan and Mary McKean.
He worked for the Chicago Pneumatic Tool Co. here for the past 22 years. He had been a resident of Franklin for 37 years.
On April 30, 1901, he married Miss Effie Davis who survives, with the following children: Robert Jr. at home, Mrs. James Reynolds of McDonald, Ohio; the following brothers and sisters: Mrs. A. Parker, Franklin, Mrs. Pearl Gordon, Emlenton, Bert McKean, Clintonville, Floyd McKean, Medina, Ohio, Mrs. Dolly McClain, Carlyle, Mrs. Ella Daugherty, Sperry, Okla., Ralph McKean, Akron, Ohio, Wesley McKean, Schenley, and Mrs. Hattie Hovis, Virginia.
The body was removed to the Osenider funeral chapel at Oil City and will be returned to the family home this morning. Funeral arrangements have not been completed.
