James E. White, 90, of Bay City passed away September 25, 2015 in Katy. He was born November 4, 1924 in Ranger, Texas to the late Ollie Seburne & Ollie Evelyn Ervin White. James graduated from the University of Texas with a degree in Civil engineering and was an avid Longhorn fan. He was an active member of the Church of Christ serving as a bible school teacher, deacon and elder. James worked with the Bay City Boy Scouts serving as a Scout Master and Den leader. He was a former member of the Bay City Kiwanis club, and a former board member of Peach Valley Christian camp. James retired from the Texas Department of Transportation with over 30 years of service.

He is survived by his sister: Mary Sue Vaughn; 2 daughters: Peggy Hughes & husband Steve and Virginia Jones & husband Steve; 5 grandchildren; and 7 great grandchildren. James was preceded in death by his parents; wife of over 61 years: Charline A White; and son: James R. White.

The family will receive visitors from 8:00 AM to 9:00 AM Friday, October 2, 2015 at Nichols St. Church of Christ with a funeral service to follow at 9:00 AM with Brother Matt Springfield officiating. Interment will follow at 4:00 PM at Goldthwaite Memorial Cemetery in Goldthwaite, Texas.
