Dominic S. Gogolewski, 39, of 500 Jefferson avenue, veteran of World war II, passed away of a heart attack at his home Sunday morning at 4:30 o'clock. He was ill the past year.
Mr. Gogolewski served in the armed forces from 1942 to 1945, overseas most of that time. Before entering service he operated the North End Food market in this city.
He was on leave of absence from the University of Wisconsin the past year because of illness.
Born in this city Jun 5, 1911, Mr. Gogolewski was the son of Mr. and Mrs. Constance Gogolewski. He married the former Jean Gorr May 22, 1943. She is on the faculty of Oshkosh State Teachers college.
Mr. Gogolewski was employed by the University of Wisconsin for four years until his forced leave of absence last year.
Survivors are his wife; his father; three brothers, Aloys[sic], Stanley and Frank Gogolewski, and four sisters, Celia, Josephine and Stella Gogolewski, and Mrs. Victor Jaworski, all residents of Oshkosh. Also surviving are several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 9 a.m. Wednesday at St. Josaphat's Catholic church with the Rev. A.H. Trzabiatowski officiating. Burial will be in Calvary cemetery. Friends may call at the Fiss & Bills funeral home from Tuesday afternoon until the time of services. The rosary will be recited Tuesday evening at 7:30 o'clock.
