She was born in Brockton in 1922, and later moved to North Falmouth with her family at the age of 10. She was a secretary for many years at a Hyannis law firm from which she retired.
Elaine was a member of the North Falmouth Congregational Church which was founded by her ancestors, the Nye family. She was also a past member of the Thursday Club, a Girl Scout leader, and was on various committees at the church. Her hobbies included writing poetry, bird watching, making flower arrangements, watching the Red Sox, going out to eat, and spending time with her family.
Elaine was preceded in death by her son Arthur Motte, Jr. She leaves behind her daughter, Linda Enos and husband Lee Enos, Sr., grandchildren, Lee Enos, Jr. and wife Passang, Cheryl Steuerwald and significant other, Lance Geggatt; great-grandchildren, Kelly Dutra and husband Chris, Brittany and Amber Steuerwald, Dylan and Justin Enos; and great-great-grandchildren, Khyla, Jamie, and Matthew Dutra, all residing in Falmouth. Elaine will be greatly missed by all.
A funeral service will be held on Monday, October 5th at 11 a.m. at the North Falmouth Congregational Church, 155 Old Main Rd, North Falmouth 02556. Private burial will follow.
