Laura (Plummer) Ranville, age 67, passed away Friday, September 25, 2015. She was born on January 15, 1948, in Muskegon, MI to Leonard H. and Dorothy (Anderson) Plummer. Laura was a teacher for over 30 years, teaching in Dimondale and Holt, MI, and Saudi Arabia.
On February 2, 1973, she married David Ranville, who survives her along with her two children, Jason Ranville of Chicago, IL; and Megan (Owen) Durham of Columbus, GA and their son, Jack; as well as numerous other family members. She was preceded in death by her parents and her brother, Leonard Scott Plummer of Muskegon. Laura loved Lake Michigan taking daily walks on the beach. She was a lifelong reader, a staunch supporter of MSU football and basketball, and an amateur genealogist, tracing her family history back to the Mayflower.
Laura's memorial service will be on Thursday, October 1 at 2PM at Oak Grove Funeral Home (309 W. Parkdale Ave, Manistee, MI) with a visitation beginning at 1PM. In lieu of flowers, Laura's family asks that donations be made to the Barbara Ann Karmanos Cancer Institute.
