Jimmy Lynn Ball, 54, of Church Hill, went home to be with the Lord unexpectedly on Thursday, September 24, 2015 at his residence. Born in California on February 25, 1961, a son of the late Allen Merle and Sylvia Ball, he resided in this area most of his life. Jimmy was of the Baptist faith and attended Glenwood Community Baptist. He was a retired pipefitter, and had worked for several construction companies across the country. Jimmy will be remembered as a loving and devoted husband of 20 years, dad, grandfather, brother, and friend. He enjoyed watching Nascar racing and had attended many Nascar events, riding his motorcycle, and spending time with his family and friends.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his grandparents, McKinley and Alice Ketron Olinger; first wife, Rose Ann Ball; one son, Jeffrey Ball; and brother, Donnie Ball.
The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. on Monday at Hamlett-Dobson Funeral Home, Kingsport, with the funeral service to follow at 7 p.m.
A graveside service will be conducted on Tuesday at 11 a.m. at Glenwood Community Baptist Church.
