EFFINGHAM -- Nora A. Edds, 83, formerly of Effingham, died Tuesday, Sept. 24, 1991, at a Leavenworth hospital where she was a patient for two days. She had lived in Cherokee Lodge at Oskaloosa the past six months.
Mrs. Edds was a teachers assistant before she retired.
She was born Nov. 12, 1907, at Arrington, one of 10 children of Jacob and Honora Cruise Eckert. She lived most of her life in Topeka.
Mrs. Edds was a member of St. Ann's Catholic Church in Effingham.
Her husband, Hobart V. Edds, died Sept. 19, 1978. A son, Hobart Edds, Jr., died Oct. 9, 1965.
Survivors include a daughter, June Domme, Fort Collins, Colo.; a son, William Edds, Oklahoma City; two sisters, Mabel Meyers, Holton, and Helen Gaggero, Topeka; 15 grandchildren; and 19 great-grandchildren.
Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday at St. Ann's Catholic Church at Effingham. Burial will be in St. Ann's Catholic Cemetery at Effingham. Mrs. Edds will lie in state from 9:30 a.m. until 5:30 p.m. today at O'Trimble Funeral Home in Effingham. A rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. Thursday at the church. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Ann's Parish Hall Building Fund.
