At his favorite restaurant, The Bright Star, he was known as Mr. Ab where he enjoyed the Saturday Breakfast Club with his friend, Jimmy Koikos and the businessmen of Bessemer. Born in the Wylam community of Birmingham on May 12, 1927, he lived his entire life in Alabama.
