Samuel Cook Shepard who was stricken with paralysis Wednesday of last week, passed away last Tuesday night at the age of 52 years. Mr. Shepard was born in Holderness and was the son of Thomas Shepard and Mary Cook Shepard, both of whom are dead.
He was a Mason, having joined Mt. Prospect Lodge, of this place in 1872. Funeral occurred Friday at one o'clock from the Baptist Church and interment took place at Squam Bridge Cemetery with Masonic honors. >The Ashland Citizen, November 29, 1902, p2.
