On November 11, 1967 GMG3 Charles Moultine was wounded in action by enemy small arms fire while on patrol aboard Patrol Boat River 681 in Kien Hoa Province, South Vietnam. Medically evacuated to a hospital, GMG3 Charles Moultine died the next day, November 12, 1967 from his wounds.

Gunner's Mate (Guns) 3rd Class Charles Ray Moultine is honored on the Vietnam Memorial at Panel 29E, Line 84.
