DYER — Services for Mildred Austin, 71, formerly of Winamac,will be held at 11:30 a.m. Tuesday in Fagen-Miller Funeral Gardens. She died at 10:25 a.m. Friday in Munster Med Inn, Munster.

She was born Jan. 29, 1917, in Chicago to Steve and Suzanne Pavlus. She was married to Harry Schultz, who died in 1953. She was married to Chester Austin, who died in 1986.

She was a member of Winamac Christian Church. She was a member of Sokol Organization of Chicago.

Surviving are three daughters, Carol Ploense, Hammond, Sandra McFarren, Huber Heights, Ohio, and Margaret Good, Monterey; a brother, Paul Pavlus, Cicero, Ill.; 11 grandchildren; and 22 great-grandchildren.

A daughter preceded in death.

The Rev. Michael Heath will officiate at the services.Burial will be in Mount Vernon Memorial Estates, Lemont, Ill. Friends may call from 2 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. Monday in the funeral gardens.
