He was born Thursday, March 18th, 1943 at his families home in Egolf Park, a son of the late Irvin Raymond Tew and Marian B. (Fisher) Tew.
He was married to Virginia (Lockhart) Tew who passed away in 2002, and is survived by his companion Lucille Brant, of Everett,
Two sons,
Jimmy Lockhart and wife Sanya, of Virginia
Johnny Lockhart and wife Carolyn, of Virginia
Six grandchildren,
Two sisters,
Shelby Leckrone, of New Orleans, Louisiana
Betty Hasting, of Everett
And many loving nieces, nephews, cousins and their families.
He was preceded in passing away by two nephews Nathan Diehl and Rodney Crawford.
Mr. Tew was a member of the Everett Baptist Church and was employed with the Fairfax County Public Schools, Fairfax Virginia, as a custodian for over 40 years until retiring.
In his younger years, Ray worked as a caddy at the Bedford Springs Golf Course , earning enough money to buy his first car, and then was a lifelong golfer. At home he enjoyed bible study, fishing, and will be remembered for his kinds ways and willingness to “lend a hand” to his family and friends.
Burial will be held at Sweet Root Cemetery.
