SUNSET--Leila Edith Smith, 93, widow of Nathan J. Smith, died Friday, December 10, 2010 at the Cottingham Hospice House in Seneca. A native of Central, she was the daughter of the late Franklin N. and Belle Crenshaw Golden.
She was a seamstress and retired from Jantzen after 30 years of service. She was of the Baptist faith.
She is survived by son Nathan Steven (Steve) Smith of Seneca; daughters Ann Smith of Sunset and Margaret Gibson (Ronnie) of Aiken; brothers, O.W. Golden of California and Jake Golden of Florida; sister Lois Sloan of Georgia; 7 granchildren, 21 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-grandchild.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was predeceased by 5 brothers and 5 sisters.
Funeral services will be in the chapel of Duckett-Robinson Funeral Home in Central at 3 p.m. on Sunday with burial to follow in Oconee Memorial Park in Seneca. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Sunday from 2-3 p.m. prior to the service.
