Charles F. Adams Sr., 90, of Rippon, died Thursday, Sept. 24, 2015, at Hospice of the Panhandle Inpatient Facility, Kearneysville, WV. Born May 28, 1925, in Jefferson County, he was the son of Marvin L. Adams Sr. and Ora G. (Kenney) Adams. Mr. Adams co-owned and operated Glen Elm Farm, Rippon; and was a life long Jefferson County farmer. He was a member of Kabletown United Methodist Church and a graduate of Charles Town High School, class of 1943. Charles was a charter member of South Jefferson Ruritan Club; a lifetime member of Jefferson County Farm Bureau; a lifetime member of Jefferson County Fair Board; a member of the Southern States Board a member of the Rippon Card Club; and a member of Blue Ridge Twirlers Square Dance Club. He is survived by his daughter, Martha A. Gramespacher and husband, Edward, of Fresno, California; son, Charles F.”Chuck” Adams Jr. and wife, Renee, of Charles Town; three grandchildren, Patrick Davidson, Megan Adams and Rachel Adams; great-grandson, Dylan Fisher Davidson; brother, Franklin W. “Woody” Adams and wife, June, of Rippon; numerous nieces and nephews; and loving caregivers, Doris, Margaret and Theresa.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 64 years, Elizabeth Magaha Adams, who died June 9, 2015; and brother, Marvin Lee Adams Jr.
Services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, Sept. 28, at Asbury United Methodist Church, 110 W. North St., Charles Town, with the Rev. Sharon Bourgeois officiating.
Interment will be at Edge Hill Cemetery, Charles Town.
Friends will be received from 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday at Melvin T. Strider Colonial Funeral Home.
