She was born April 16, 1925, in Ponca City, Oklahoma to Elwin Leroy and Martha Ann Blair. Preceded in death by her father Elwin Leroy Blair (1898-1953), mother Martha Ann (Wolf)(Blair) Linden (1906-1996), first husband, Gerald Dwayne Magness (1923-2011), second husband, Robert Zack Herrington (1923-2007), son Robert Bryant Herrington (1948-1980), and five siblings Violet Monzel (Blair) Rogers (1921-2001), Elwin Junior Blair (1928-2000), Robert Leroy Blair (1928-1933), Jimmie Lee Blair (1936-2011), and Donald Wayne "Butch" Blair (1941-2014).

She is survived by four children, Karylon Magness Keating of Fleming Island, Florida, Janet Carrier of Houston, Texas, Johnnie Holdenried (husband Thomas) of Ramona, California and Charles Herrington (wife Shine) of Magnolia, Texas. Nine Grandchildren: Mike Keating (wife Debbie), Tom Keating, Cindy Keating, Myrko Balaban (wife Rochelle), Todd Herrington (wife Cheryl), Stephen Carrier, Bryant Herrington (wife Chelsea), Larry Herrington, Danielle Robinson. Sixteen Great Grandchildren and Five Great-Great Grandchildren.

Betty lived in her early years in Ponca City Oklahoma. She moved to southern California early 1940s with her first husband Gerald…there she worked during WWII as "Rosie the Riveter" to support the war effort and had two children. In late 1940s she moved back to Ponca City, Oklahoma with her second husband Robert Zack Herrington working as a "domestic engineer"…aka mom and had three more children. Early 1960s the family moved to Boulder, Colorado where she began a long career as an accountant with Woolworths. She supported her children in their youthful artistic years with the accordion, dance, and roller skating. In 1972 the family moved to Houston, Texas where she continued her career with Woolworths in downtown Houston til it's demise in 1997.

She was passionate about gardening her roses as did her late husband Zack, coin collecting and a crafty side with ceramics.

The family will receive friends for a visitation on Sunday, September 13, 2015 at Brookside Funeral Home, 13747 Eastex Freeway, Houston, Texas 77039, inside the Family Chapel, from 3:00 to 6:00 PM.
