He was the son of the late Leonard and Kathryn [Catharine] Miller and a nephew of the late Rev. Louis M. Miller, O.M.C. and a lifelong resident of Utica.
Besides his wife, the former Margaret Friery, there survive seven children: Mary, Kathryn, Leonard, Julia, Joseph, William and James Arthur Miller, all of Utica; three sisters, Miss Julia Miller and Mrs. William Servatius of Utica and Mrs. William Roach of Rochester.
