Her obituary which appeared in the Crowley Daily Signal reads: Mrs. C. C. Sonnier Dies At Crowley Home Monday - Many Rayne people learned with regret of the death of Mrs. C.C. Sonnier at her home in Crowley Monday and are extending sincerest condolence to surviving relatives. Mrs. Sonnier was born Amy Hains, daughter of the late Elias Hains. At one time her husband was principal of Rayne high school. She is survived by her husband and seven sons, Alden, Vernon, Bruce, Vincent, Edward, Paul and Earl, ranging from 18 years to 6; by her mother, Mrs. Elias Hains, and five brothers, J. Dell, Dallas, Clet, Wilson and Wilbur Hains, all of Ebenezer and Crowley, and two sisters, Mrs. Saul Bodin of Jeanerette; and Miss Agnes Hains of Ebenezer; and many relatives residing in and near this city.
