Leon Macklen Rothrock was the youngest of eleven known children of Samuel Albert Rothrock (1846-1913) and Catherine Sarah Russell (1852-1909), who married 21 Feb 1871 at Derry Township, Mifflin County, Pennsylvania.

Leon married Margaret J. Harmon (1898-1988) in c1917 in presumably Pennsylvania. Leon and Margaret were the parents of eight known children, namely:

1. William Leon Rothrock (1918-1998)
2. Evelyn M. Rothrock Wagner (1919-1987)
3. Katherine J. Rothrock (1922-???)
4. Thomas Edward Rothrock (1924-1989)
5. Shirley Jean Rothrock (1924-1977)
6. Ruth Henrietta Rothrock (1927-???)
7. Phyllis Jean Rothrock (1931-2001)
8. living Rothrock (1936-???)
