Marie Long Ismay, 90, a loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother passed away Monday September 21, 2015 at Litchford Falls Healthcare. She was born in Lansing Michigan daughter of the lateAnna Hollingsworth Long and Fred D. Long and was preceded in death by her husband Frederick "Fred" Ismay.
Mrs. Ismay loved singing and she used to sing in a swing band in her younger days. She was active in the Dowagiac Garden Club when she lived in Dowagiac, MI. She was a bookkeeper and kept the books when her husband Fred owned a gas station.
A memorial service will be held 3 o'clock Friday afternoon September 25, 2015 at Hope Lutheran Church in Wake Forest with Pastor Lew Upchurch officiating.
Mrs. Ismay is survived by her children, Michael Stephen Ismay of Raleigh, Jeffrey Dean Ismay of Indianapolis, IN., Gregory Lee Ismay and his wife Maria of Raleigh; grandchildren, August Frederick Ismay and Natalie Lucia-Marie Ismay both of Raleigh, Ryan Ismay of Jones, MI., Amy Johnson of Three Rivers, MI.; great grandchildren, Emily Ismay, Jaden and Jordan Johnson.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Hope Lutheran Church 3525 Rogers Rd. Wake Forest, NC 27587.
Friends may visit with the family immediately following the service in the Church Fellowship Building.
