P. Sarsfield O'Connor, 61, a mail carrier in Syracuse for 40 years and one of the oldest carriers in the Syracuse Post Office, died suddenly from heart disease Mar. 18 at his home, 1337 West Onondaga Street. The son of John and Anna O'Connor, he was born in Syracuse and completed his education at the public schools before beginning work as a mail carrier on the West Side. His time of service was the longest of any carrier at the Syracuse Post Office. Mr. O'Connor was treasurer for the Central Trades and Labor Assembly for 13 years, having just been elected to his fourteenth term, and was treasurer of the Syracuse Letter Carriers Association for more than a quarter century.

He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Violet O'Connor; by five sons, Dr. Lloyd O'Connor, Dr. Sarsfield O'Connor, and Francis, Donald, and William O'Connor; by three daughters, Mrs. Mildred Langan, and the Misses Willa and Doris O'Connor; by two brothers, Thomas and Paul O'Connor; by two sisters. Mrs. Mary Frank and Mrs. Howard Tillapaugh; and by six grandchildren. Funeral services were at Most Holy Rosary Church.
