Betty June McGonigal, 78, of Richboro, Pa., died on Dec. 1, 2009, at Twining Village, Holland, Pa. Relatives and friends are invited to call on Friday, Dec. 4, from 3 to 4:30 p.m., with a service at 4:30 p.m. at the Swartz/Givnish Funeral Home, 323 E. Washington Ave., Newtown, Pa., and are welcome and encouraged to join the family at Twining Village, 1400 Old Jordon Rd., Holland, for a memorial service and a time of food and fellowship following the time at the funeral home. Interment services will be held on Saturday, Dec. 5, at 11 a.m. at Hillside Cemetery, 52 Lincoln Ave., Metuchen, N.J., www.Lifecelebration.com, 1-800-GIVNISH. Born in Richboro, Pa., Betty June was a former resident of Edison, N.J. for 45 years before moving to Twining Village in 2003. She was a 1949 graduate of Council Rock High School. Betty June was the daughter of the late Clifford and Florence Harter; wife of the late Joseph F. McGonigal, and sister of the late George Harter. She is survived by her children, Donna and her husband, Terry Mehlenbacher, of Leicester, N.Y., Brian and his wife, Leslie McGonigal, of San Antonio, Texas, and Joseph and his wife, Shea McGonigal, of Portland, Maine, and Lollie to her grandchildren, Kyle, Ryan and Taylor Yelencsics, and Austin, Tristan and Jersi McGonigal. She is also survived by her sister, Eileen, and her husband, Herb Anderson, of Florida; a sister-in-law, Doris Harter of Tunkhannock, Pa., and Florida, and many beloved nieces, nephews, sisters-in-law, brothers-in -law, and those who were like family in both Pennsylvania and New Jersey. You meant so much to Mom and we know she meant the world to you. Her sense of humor and kind spirit were a bright spot to all who have known her.
