Jerome "Jerry" Rhoden, age 74, Appleton, was born to eternal life on Saturday, September 19, 2015. He was born in Phlox, WI on November 3, 1940, son of the late Lawrence and Idella (Kamps) Rhoden. After high School in New London 1958, Jerry went on to Home Construction School, Port Hueneme, California for the US Navy. Jerry spent four years island hopping the Philippines and the Aleutian Islands under command of Mobile Construction Battalion#5, better known as the “Seabees”. After building hundreds of homes in the Fox Valley (possibly yours!), Jerry’s son Randy started a woodworking shop and taught “Dad” the finer aspects of woodworking. In 1964, Jerry married his sweetheart, Beverly Meyer “B.B.”.

Jerry leaves behind his beloved wife of 51 years, and their children: Randy (Janet) Rhoden and Laurie (Dann) Burghardt; grandchildren: Christina and Olivia Burghardt; his siblings, Loraine Dixon, Muskego, MI; Rosalyn Oberstadt, New London and Florence Scholl, Shawano; Ruth (Dick) Simpson, Clintonville; Cecilia (Pete) Dernbach, Antigo and sisters-in-law, Carolyn Rhoden, Milwaukee and Mary Rhoden, Dale. He is also survived by cousins, nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews and great-great nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his siblings: Harold, Marion, Bill, Bob, LaVonne, Larry, Victor and Beverly, special niece Kathy (Rhoden) Jezeski; in-laws: Archie Dixon, Ernie Woeshnick, Cliff Myers, Ray Oberstadt, Orin Sommers, Rollyn Scholl and Rita Rhoden.

Funeral services for Jerome will be held on Thursday, September 24, 2015, at 11:00 a.m. at Emanuel Lutheran Church, New London with Rev. William Heiges officiating. Burial will be in the Floral Hill Cemetery, New London. Visitation will be held at the church on Thursday, from 9:00 a.m. until the time of service.
