THELMA RICHARDSON, FRANKLIN
Thelma May Richardson, 83, Franklin, died this morning at her daughter Frances L. Ringgenberg's home in Fort Wayne. She had been in failing health 1 1/2 months.
She was born Aug. 29, 1904, in Wanamaker, to Albert O. and Lenore (Hougham) Hendricks. She graduated from Wanamaker High School. She married Maynard L. Richardson Dec. 11, 1934. He preceded her in death Sept. 15, 1965. She was the granddaughter of Prudence Hougham, the first woman to graduate from Franklin College and the second woman to graduate from college in Indiana.
Mrs. Richardson was a member of Franklin Church of Christ, where she worked as secretary 20 years. She also taught Sunday school at the church and was a member of its Golden 60s group. She also belonged to Johnson County Historical Society.
A service will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Vandivier-Tudor Funeral Home in Franklin, with E.C. Meadows and Richard Hostetler officiating Friends may call at the funeral home after 2 p.m. Friday. Burial will be at Greenlawn Cemetery in Franklin.
Also surviving are one daughter, Alice DeLong, Fort Wayne; one son, James A. Richardson, Memphis, Tenn; one sister, Kathrine Davis, Franklin; and three grandchildren.
She also was preceded in death by one son, Maynard David Richardson, and one brother, Hall Hendricks.
