James V. Allen, 78 passed away suddenly on September 18, 2015 at Christiana Hospital.

Jim was born in Syracuse, NY, the son of the late Elizabeth (O'Neal) and Lee Allen. He served in the U.S. Army and worked at Electric, Hose & Rubber for 12 years. He retired in 1995 after 20 years in the maintenance department of Tatnall School. Jim was a member of St. John the Beloved Church and a Fourth Degree member of the Knights of Columbus, St. John the Beloved Council. He was also a member of the Delaware Saengerbund and the VFW, Hall Burke Post. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his siblings, Wilbert Allen, Elizabeth Ludlam, Helen Mason and Agnes Lambert.

Jim is survived by his wife of 52 years, Concetta "Connie" (DelleDonne) Allen; his son and his wife, Eugene and Linda Thomas of Hockessin; his daughter and her husband, Helen and Robert Jones of Newark and his grandsons, Bradley and Eric Shores.

Relatives and friends may call at the MEALEY FUNERAL HOME 2509 Limestone Road on Thursday evening from 6 to 8 PM. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday morning at 10:30 AM at St. John the Beloved Church, 907 Milltown Road, Wilmington, DE 19808. Entombment will be in Cathedral Cemetery, Wilmington. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be sent to Knights of Columbus, SJB Council at the above address
