She was born in Proctor, VT, August 23, 1913, a daughter of the late Vincent and Anna Kovacs Gurbach. She worked at New York Hospital where she met Frank, the love of her life. They raised their family in the city. She was a parishioner of Holy Angels Church and was able to live at home with the help of her family and caregiver Shirley until the time of her death. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother.
She will be dearly missed by her daughter and son-in-law, Dolores A. and John G. Barys; son, Frank Costa Jr.; her grandsons, Joseph Barys and John M. Barys; her great grandchildren, Christa Lockman, Scott Lockman, and Kellie Barys; and her sisters, Ida Paulson, Irene White and Anne Lendway; and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her sisters, Mary Gurbach, Elizabeth Gurbach, Teresa Lansky, Margaret Amundson and Evy Kapitan.
