Robert J. Nunn, Halls ginner and planter, died suddenly at 5:00 am last Friday at Parkland Hospital in Dyersburg, of which he had entered a few minutes earlier, he was 62.

Services were at 2:00 pm Saturday at the First Christian Church in Halls, in which he was a deacon. The Rev. John Porter officiated. Burial in Halls Cemetery with Halls Funeral Home in charge.

Born in Crockett County, the son of the late Dr. Will Nunn and Mrs. Alice January Nunn, both of Crockett County, he moved to Halls in 1906. He played on the first Halls football team in 1921 and later played football for the University of Tennessee, of which he was a graduate. He was a former Halls Alderman. A landowner in Lauderdale, Crockett and Dyer Counties, he was a Director in the Bank of Halls as well with the Tennessee Ginners Association.

He leaves his wife, Mrs. Deborah Glee Nunn; a daughter, Mrs. Raymond Clough, of Germantown; two sisters, Mrs. Hill Martin, of Halls and Mrs. T.E. 'Rocky' Palmer, of Dyersburg.
