• Arthur L. Abel, 83, 104 North Chestnut street, barber in Princeton since the age of 15, died Tuesday morning at Perry Memorial hospital. He was born June 21, 1887, in Princeton a son of William G. and Julia Coldewe Abel, who preceded him in death.

• He is survived by his wife, Bertha Petersen Abel, whom he married in Ottawa on Nov. 18, 1913; sons, Roger L Abel, North Ridgeville, Ohio; SFC Max Abel, Fort Sheridan; Robert K. Abel, Lincoln; daughters, Mrs. Lloyd (Cozette) Kissick, Rockford; Mrs. Taft (Genevieve) Zitoun, Peru; Mary Abel, Princeton; seven grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren; a brother, George, Berrien Springs, Mich.; sisters, Mrs. Anna Williams, Half Moon Bay, Calif., Mrs. Isabella Eickmeier, Fullerton, Calif. He was preceded in death, beside his parents, by sons, Arthur W., and Louis Abel.

• Funeral services for Arthur L. Abel, 83, 104 North Chestnut street, who died on Tuesday morning at Perry Memorial hospital, will be held at 10 a.m. Friday at the Norberg Memorial home, the Rev. Edward Anderson officiating. Interment will be in Elm Lawn Memorial park.
