Warren M. Hartley, 47, was fatally stricken with a heart attack while bowling Sunday [Oct. 4, 1964] night. He was dead on arrival at St. Elizabeth Hospital at 8:10 PM. He and Mrs. Hartley were bowling in the Sunday Night Mixed League at the Bowlmore Lanes.

Born in Cleveland, OH, he was reared at Indianapolis, but spent most of his life in Lafayette. In 1956, he was married here to Martha May Lehman, who survives.

Mr. and Mrs. Hartley are the owners and operators of May's Upholstery Shop in downtown Lafayette. He was a member of Loyal Order of Moose 1529.

Surviving with his widow are a son, Claude A. Hartley, at home; a daughter, Mrs. Ernest Ausban of Lafayette, both by a former marriage; three stepsons, Thomas Timmons of Rensselaer, Airman 1C Patrick Lehman of O'Connell Air Force Base in Kansas, and Daniel Lehman, at home; two stepdaughters, Mrs. Edwin Wilson of Lafayette and Sandra Lehman, at home; his mother, Mrs. Florence Carlisle of Lafayette; two half-brothers, Charles A. Carlisle of Fort Wayne and Erle H. Carlisle of Chesterton; three half-sisters, Mrs. Edward Burnett of Rt. 6, Mrs. Eldridge Burton of Templeton and Mrs. Robert D. Johnson of Anderson; and ten grandchildren.
