Julius E. Adair, Jr., 63, of Beaufort, died Wednesday, March 23, 2011, at home from pancreatic cancer surrounded by family and friends. He was born in Morehead City on February 24, 1948 to Julius Emmett Adair and Shirley Mason Adair. He was a lifelong resident of Beaufort and retired from the United States Postal Service.
A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, April 2, 2011, at First Baptist Church, Beaufort with Hugh Jones officiating.
Surviving: daughters, Janet Adair Mahoney and husband, Mark of Raleigh, Dr. Jeannie E. Adair and Lt. Col Martin J. Forrest, IV of Beaufort; brother, William Ivey Adair and wife, Cathy of Beaufort; grandchildren, Adair Addison Mahoney and Jameson Delaney Mahoney; special friend, Carla McAlister of Morehead City; former wife, Peggy Chadwick and husband, John of Raleigh.
His parents precede him in death.
The family will receive friends following the service at the church.
