Clarence Edward "Andy" Anderson, 65, died Monday at his home in Minot.

He was born on March 28, 1900 in Strom, Wisconsin to Mr. and Mrs. John Anderson. As a young boy, he went with his parents to Stanley. He then lived in Ladysmith, Wisconsin, Crosby and Minot, North Dakota. In 1914, he was confirmed at the Concordia Lutheran Church in Crosby. Andy graduated from Crosby High School and the School of Pharmacy at the University of Minnesota.

On July 30, 1930, Andy married Pearl Roush.

After graduation, he was employed at drug stores in Minnesota and South Dakota, before coming to Minot where he was employed by the former, Benno Drug Co. In November 1919, he enlisted in the US Navy in Billings, Montana, and served for 12 years in the Orient. Upon release, he held the rank of Pharmacists' Mate, second class.

Mr. Anderson along with Robert Harkeness, purchased the former F.L. Gill Store in Minot, which was renamed to Bon Ton, a women's clothing store. He formed a partnership with W.E. Balsukot in 1944 at the Bon Ton, and they acquired women's stores in Bemidji, Minnesota, Williston and Devils Lake, North Dakota. At one time, Andy also owned and operated the Dutch Mill in Minot before selling it to the Kontos Brothers, and Andy's Men's Clothing Store in Crosby, selling to Ron Mills in November 1963. In 1951, he was named president of the newly incorporated Anderson Motors in Minot, a Chrysler and Plymouth dealer.

Andy was a member of Concordia Lutheran Church in Crosby, Crosby Masonic Blue Lodge, Scottish Rite Bodies, Kem Temple of the Shrine and the Minot, Williston, and Crosby Shrine Clubs. In 1960, he was named the president of the Crosby International Shrine Club. He also was a member of the Loyal Order of the Moose, the Elks Lodge, the American Legion, and Veterans of Foreign Wars. An avid pilot, Andy was a member of the North Dakota Aeronautics Association.
