PRESQUE ISLE – Lawrence D. LeBlanc, 71, passed away Friday, Sept. 22, 2006, surrounded by his family, in Presque Isle. He was born Nov. 16, 1934, in Fort Kent, to the late Charles “Charlie” and Winnie (Marquis) LeBlanc. Lawrence worked 22 years at Pepsi-Cola Bottling Co., frequently delivering to the Loring Air Force Base. Because of his natural talent and love for fabricating, he went to work for Gould & Smith, Inc., eventually working at Haines Manufacturing. He was constantly creating and fabricating equipment designs for the local farming community. After retirement, Lawrence continued to find his niche by creating the local “tin man” made from recycled materials. Along with his talents, he loved music and dancing, had a love for animals, a heart for laughter and spending time with family and friends. During his earlier years, he was an avid snowmobile enthusiast, which grew into a natural appreciation and love for nature. Lawrence was a communicant of St. Mary’s Catholic Church. He is survived by his son, Benjamin L. LeBlanc and his wife, Penny and their son, Benjamin L. LeBlanc II; daughter, Linda LeBlanc and her children, Gianna and Daneeka Hennings of Flagstaff, Ariz.; daughter, Gina LeBlanc of Presque Isle; his loving companion of 19 years, Eunice Tarbox of Presque Isle; two brothers, Edgar LeBlanc and his wife, Marcella and Gerald LeBlanc and his wife, Patty; sister, Simone Knight and her husband, Robert, all of Presque Isle; and sister, Yvette Cox and her husband, Jim, of Topsham; also several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be conducted 1 p.m. Monday, Sept. 25, at Duncan-Graves Funeral Home, 30 Church St., Presque Isle. Friends may call noon until the time of service. Donations in his memory may be made to the American Lung Association, 122 State St., Augusta, ME 04330.
