Funeral service will be held 2:00 pm Tuesday September 15, 2015 at Reedy Creek Baptist Church with Rev. Egbert Craven officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends at the church from 1:00 until 2:00 pm, prior to the service.
Evelyn was born January 3, 1920 in Raleigh County, W. VA to William Moffitt and Frances Pugh Samples. She was a retired employee of Reliable Electric in South Carolina and a member of Reedy Creek Baptist Church. She loved to quilt, bake fruit cakes, fish and work in her roses as long as her health permitted. She was preceded in death by her parents; husbands, Jonie B. Adkins and Jimmie W. Rush; sons, Charles E. Adkins and Dennis Lee Adkins; a granddaughter and a grandson; sister, Eula B. Samples; brothers, Charles, Hylon, Johnny and Elliott Samples and her favorite son-in-law, Druid Love.
Surviving are a daughter, Mildred Love of Lexington; sons, Samuel Adkins of Huger, SC and Richard Adkins of Moncks Corner, SC; 20 grandchildren; 30 great-grandchildren and 15 great-great-grandchildren; daughter-in-law, Sandra Adkins and special friend, Annie Perry both of Moncks Corner, SC.
