Alexander was born about 1555 in England. He was a shoemaker by trade. Alexander married in Stoke Doyle, Northamptonshire, in 1578, Elizabeth Hull. In the marriage record he is called “Saunder Beebye”. Alexander & Elizabeth had at least five daugters and two sons, according to their wills, but no documents have been found that give the actual birthdate of any of thier children. He was a witness to a land purchase in Great Addington in 1608, and became a landowner there in 1610. He was also a witness to the will of his brother there in 1622. His own will was dated February 20, 1623/4 and proved in April of 1624. He is of Great Addington at that time. In the will, he mentions his wife Elizabeth and his sons John (eldest) and James (second). Alexander was buried in the churchyard of All Saints Church in Great Addington.
