WINSTON-SALEM - Mr. Peter Emile Lejarre, Sr., of Winston-Salem, devoted and loving husband and father, passed away Tuesday, October 8, 2013 at Forsyth Medical Center. Mr. Lejarre was born to Emile S. Lejarre and Victoria Mary Ogliengo Lejarre in Jersey City, NJ and raised in Elmsford and Tarrytown, NY. Following his education in New York he began his 45 year career at P.R. Mallory, later known as Duracell Battery in Lexington, NC, at which time he relocated to Winston-Salem, NC. Mr. Lejarre was a member of St. Leo the Great Catholic Church, the Knights of Columbus and the Power Squadron. He loved sharing time between his home in Winston-Salem and his home at Lake Norman. He was an avid boater and dog lover. Mr. Lejarre is survived by his wife of 50 years, Margaret Lejarre of the home; his children, Peter E. Lejarre (Deborah) of Lewisville, Beth Anne Starling (Keith) of Lewisville, Robert Lejarre of Raleigh, Craig Lejarre of Winston-Salem and Megan Lejarre of Beech Mountain. A Mass of the Resurrection will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, October 11, 2013 at St. Leo the Great Catholic Church. Memorials may be made to Hospice and Palliative Care, 101 Hospice Lane, Winston-Salem, NC 27101 or to St. Leo the Great Catholic Church, 335 Springdale Ave., Winston-Salem, NC 27104.
